Solar Ruler ("we", "our", or "the site") is committed to protecting your privacy. This page explains what information we collect and how it is used.

Information We Collect

1. Location Data (Optional)

If you choose to share your approximate location in the browser, Solar Ruler stores your latitude and longitude only on your device using localStorage. This information:

• is used only to display an orange location marker on the globe
• is not transmitted to our servers
• is not shared with third parties

2. Email Address (Optional — Aurora Alerts)

If you choose to subscribe to aurora alerts at sruler.com/alerts, we collect your email address and your chosen Kp alert threshold. This information is used solely to send you aurora alert emails.

We store this data in Google Firebase Firestore. Specifically, we store:

• Your email address
• Your chosen Kp alert threshold
• The date and time you consented to alerts
• A randomly generated unsubscribe token
• The date of the last alert sent to you

We will never sell, share, or rent your email address to any third party. You will receive at most one alert email per day. Every alert email contains a one-click unsubscribe link.

You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any alert email, or by visiting sruler.com/alerts and contacting us directly. Upon unsubscribing, your subscription record will be marked inactive and no further emails will be sent.

3. Technical Data

Like most websites, we may automatically receive anonymized technical data from your browser, such as:

• Browser type
• Device type
• Approximate region (non-precise)
• Pages accessed and general usage analytics

Google AdSense & Cookies

Solar Ruler may use Google AdSense to display ads. Google may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to:

• Serve personalized or non-personalized ads
• Measure ad performance
• Prevent invalid traffic

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to Solar Ruler and other sites on the Internet.

Email addresses collected for aurora alerts are retained until you unsubscribe. You may request permanent deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
